Delores Hollen, LPC
My special intrests include: eating disorders; adjustment disorders; ADD/ADHD; families of substance abuse; grief & loss issues, i.e., death of parent, spouse, child, close friends; divorce/separation, miscarriage/ abortion; and women's change of life issues, e.g., starting over/empty nest/singleness
My training and internship at the Medical University of South Carolina Eating Disorders Clinic, Children of Addicted Families Program, and life experiences uniquely qualify me to work with people in the above areas. My life's goal has been to serve people with these types of issues.

Since that time, Ms. Tarpey has raised a family and been in private practice for the past 19 years. Her specialty is working with children and families. She is trained in play therapy and her areas of interest include divorce, abuse and neglect, trauma, ADHD, and behavioral issues. David Michael Bruhn, Ed.S., LPC, NCC
Education and Work Experience:
Mike attended the University of South Carolina earning a B.A. in Psychology (1995). Following graduation he worked as a qualified mental retardation specialist (QMRP) for Babcock center in Columbia, SC. He wrote individualized treatment plans for persons with mental retardation which were designed to teach all of the skills needed for the residents to live the most independent lifestyle as possible. In this setting Mike learned an extensive knowledge of developmental disorders including Autism and Aspbergers.
While working at Babcock Center, Mike earned an Ed.S. specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of South Carolina (2000). He worked at Berkeley Community Mental Health Center primarily with adolescents and their families who were court ordered to treatment through the Department of Juvenile Justice. Mike also worked after hours providing psychological assessments for uninsured patients in local emergency rooms and evaluated the need for inpatient hospitalization. Also during this time he earned his professional counselor license and worked in private practice here at Oasis.
In 2003, Mike decided to further his education and was accepted to the University of South Carolina's Ph.D program in Counselor Education. He completed all of the requirements for the degree except for completing his dissertation. A growing family and a thriving practice forced him to make a tough decision and he decided not to complete his research.
A personal message from Mike
For the past decade I have had the pleasure of treating individuals and families here in the Lowcountry. I work with client's who have a variety of mood disorders (such as Bipolar Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder), Anxiety Disorders (such as Panic Disorder & Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), ADHD, Physical and Sexual abuse, Developmental Disorders, Bereavement, etc. In the psychiatric & psychological community we use labels to diagnose, understand and treat mental disorders. However, in my practice, I strive to treat my clients as individuals and give them the respect they deserve. I pride myself on creating a safe, nurturing, therapeutic relationship with my clients. I am a Christian. I believe focusing on a person's spirituality is an essential part of the healing process. If desired by my client, I will integrate this into therapy. I look forward to meeting you soon and helping you overcome the unique struggles in your life.
